Rules - "Maybe you did not know...."
1. 12U - If a runner attempts to steal a base, runs back to the base they came from and is tagged out, the attempt
counts as a steal.
2. 12U - The infield fly rule is a discretionary call by the umpire. Most times if the ball
is a pop up in front of the base line or just behind it they will not call the infield fly rule. Base runners
at that point enter the base path at their own risk. If the ball is caught and the runner is tagged
by the girl with the ball the runner is out. It is only when the Infield Fly Rule is called by the
umpire that play is stopped.
3. ALL Divisions; Each game is allocated one hour and fifteen minutes. An inning must start if the last out
occurs prior to the expiration of the one hour and fifteen minutes from start time of the game as
declared by the umpire.
For example if the game starts at 6:00pm promptly and an out is made ending an inning at 7:14PM the next inning must start.
Be aware of this rule as some umpires may try to call the game before the time limit or will state the 'next inning starts'
when the team is in the field and the ball is ready to be pitched. This is false statement. It is important to record
the start time of the game as declared by the umpire.
